Redshift Data Warehouse Modernisation
Establishing a single source of truth and scalable data foundations.
The Challenge
As organizations scale, legacy data architectures often struggle to maintain quality controls and provide a unified enterprise view, leading to disparate data assets and fragmented business intelligence. The goal was to consolidate diverse data sources into a robust, centralized repository capable of supporting advanced analytics.
The Solution
I designed and implemented an enterprise-grade Redshift Data Warehouse utilizing the Kimball methodology and Medallion Architecture principles. This involved building hands-on ETL pipelines to systematically process raw data through Bronze (Raw), Silver (Operational), and Gold (Application) layers. The architecture prioritized interoperability, rigorous data quality, and transparent data lineage.
The Impact
The modernization initiative successfully established an enterprise-wide single source of truth. By automating key data pipelines and optimizing ETL/ELT processes, we significantly reduced manual overhead. The robust foundation enabled a culture of data-driven decision-making, providing downstream users with trustworthy, self-service Business Intelligence capabilities.
